I was flying home from China when the Columbine shooting was taking place. It was on all the televisions when I landed in LA. Two days later, we flew to Colorado for an ad shoot and drove out to the high school on our way to Denver. A rambling makeshift memorial spread out along the fence and the parking lot was full. Adults and kids wandered the scene reading the notes and placing their own.
